LES Meeting October 28

The Lorquin Entomological Society will have a meeting this Friday, October 28, 2011. The speaker will be the Lorquin President-Elect and forensic entomologist David Faulkner. He will be tlaking about the "Butterflies of Baja."

David Faulkner is a long-time Lorquin member and a nationally recognized forensic entomologist. He worked as the entomologist at the San Diego Natural History Museum from 1975-2001 was hired to manage the Entomology Department following the retirement of Fred Thorne. He has since focused on forensic entomology and environmental surveys and is a research associate with the museum. As of 2009 he is/was an instructor in the Forensic Entomology for the Institute of Criminal Investigations in San Jose and Sacramento. David Faulkner also teaches classes for homicide  investigators for the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He has worked on more than 450 death investigations of human and non-human victims since 1979. 

David Faulkner is the author of Butterflies of Baja California and From Hair to Infirmary: Health Concerns in an Invertebrate Exhibit.
