LES Meeting June 24- Free Pinning Workshop

The Lorquin Entomological Society will meet on Friday June 24, 2011. This will be our last meeting until September. Go out and spend your summer collecting and show us your catch at the September Show & Tell.

Andy Calderwood
Our guest speaker will be Andy Calderwood. He is the Supervising Agricultural Biologist with the Ventury County Agricultural Commissioner's office.

Mr. Calderwood received his Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Riverside. He has an interest in bee flies and spends time collecting in Mexico.

There will be a Pinning Workshop hosted by Bedros Orchanian, Dave Wikle, and Ken Osborne. The workshop is Free to everyone who attend. This workshop will cover basic butterfly and moth mounting and spreading techniques. Ken Osborne will present his magnetic spreading board technique and Dave Wikle will be demonstrating his technique on micro-lepidoptera. Butterfly and moth specimens will be available but if you have any material please don't be afraid to bring them. You may take home and keep the specimens you spread.

Doors open at 7:00PM meeting starts at 8:00PM

Venue for Meeting and Pinning Workshop is the usual BioQuip Warehouse
