Eric Eaton is one of the principal authors of the Kaufman Field Guide to Insects of North America and a variety of other books and articles on insects and other animals. He has written for Ranger Rick, Missouri Conservationist and Timeline.
Mr. Eaton studied Entomology at Oregon State University and has mostly worked as an Assistant Butterfly Curator for "Butterfly Magic" at the Tucson Botanical Gardens. He has provided insect and spider identification for a project at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) in 2009 and have worked at the Cincinnati Zoo. Mr. Eaton has also worked on a private contract for the Smithsonian Institution, Portland State University and the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources.
Mr. Eaton moderates a forum for SpiderIdentification.org and volunteers his time to WhatsThatBug.com as well as AllExperts.com and Bugguide.net. His jargon-free explanations regarding the topics of insect biology and general entomology have made him a notable figure in the world of popular entomology. He is author to his blogs "Bug Eric" and "Sense of Misplaced." Doors open at 7:00PM meeting starts at 8:00PM
