Lorquin is Now on Facebook

That’s right. The Lorquin Entomological Society is now on Facebook. Blaine Hebert took the liberty to create a LES Group on Facebook. The Lorquin Facebook Group intends to connect members, organizations, and hobbyists in one simple setting. The Group will serve as an open forum for discussion of a broad range of topics.

Please take your time to contribute to the Group by adding pictures, videos, and topics for open forum discussion. In order to contribute you must have a Facebook account which is free.

LES Meeting June 25-Last Meeting Until The Fall

The Lorquin Entomological Society will meet for the last time before the September Show&Tell. During July and August Lorquin will not have monthly meetings so take the time and venture into the open and bring back stories for the September meeting.

The speaker for the June 25th meeting will be Albert Thurman.

Albert Thurman will update Lorquin on his Panama collecting trips. It has been two years since he has talked to Lorquin.

Since 1979, Albert has returned to Panama on two week collecting trips more than ten times. This is all while he conducts a multi-year project THE BIODIVERSITY OF INSECTS IN PANAMA as a Senior Research Associate for the Florida Museum of Natural History and the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity at the University of Florida.

Albert Thurman also brings entomological displays to local schools to show the youth the fascinating and fantastic world of tropical insects.
