November 2010 Guest Speaker

For the November 2010 Lorquin Entomological Society meeting we are glad to have Brian Duistermars of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, UCLA join us and talk about "Olfactory Tracking by Flying Insects."

"Brian, the son of a Hemet, Ca.dairyman, received a B.S. in 2005 in Cell,  molecular, developmental biology from the University of California, Riverside (UCR) and his Ph.D. in 2009 in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA.) He has authored numerous papers on the subject of Drosophila sensory tracking and motor responses. At the Frye Lab, Brian is examining molecular‐genetic mechanisms for of low light vision, and is also studying the behavioral algorithms for  multisensory integration."

Doors open at 7P.M. meeting starts at 8P.M.
